Padre Pio Hospital-Butozi: Our Flagship Health Project

At the heart of our Health Systems Strengthening program is Padre Pio Hospital-Butozi. This hospital serves over 1,000 patients annually and is the primary healthcare facility for dozens of surrounding communities in Greater Masaka. PAPIRUDEI has been instrumental in funding critical medical equipment, supporting healthcare staff, and improving the hospital infrastructure to ensure patients receive the care they deserve.

We are currently fundraising to fully equip the hospital. Our goal is $370,000 — and we have raised $36,880 (10%) so far. With your support, we can give this hospital everything it needs to serve its community fully. Every dollar you donate directly purchases life-saving medical equipment.

What We Do in Health Systems Strengthening

  • Medical Equipment Funding: Providing hospitals and clinics with essential tools — from examination tables to diagnostic equipment — that make healthcare delivery possible.
  • Healthcare Worker Training: Building the capacity of nurses, midwives, and community health workers through training and mentorship programs.
  • Community Health Camps: Bringing free medical checkups, screenings, and health education directly to rural communities on key health days.
  • Infrastructure Support: Improving the physical facilities at health centers to create safe, functional environments for patients and staff.
  • Health Awareness Programs: Educating communities on disease prevention, maternal health, nutrition, and hygiene.

Our Impact So Far

Over 1,000 patients served annually at Padre Pio Hospital. 50 communities in Greater Masaka reached through health programs. Thousands of individuals with improved access to healthcare since 2010.
