GOAL

Empowering rural lives through health and education services.

MISSION

To contribute to the improvement of health and education service delivery for the social and economic well-being of the marginalised rural people.

VISION

A society where Health and Education Services reach to all.

WHO WE ARE

Established in 2010, Padre Pio Rural Development Initiative (PAPIRUDEI) is a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered with the Ugandan National NGO Board. It is situated at Lusaka-Lwankoni in Kyotera District and operates in various districts of the Catholic Diocese of Masaka. PAPIRUDEI was initially started as a volunteer group by concerned local community members. It gradually grasped the attention of several development players and in 2018, it was successfully registered as an NGO to influence governance and development processes in Uganda.

WHAT WE DO

PAPIRUDEI improves access to essential health, education, and social services in the rural districts of Masaka and Kyotera. We work with local and international partners to deliver high-impact interventions in hard-to-reach communities.

Our current work includes:

a) Health Services: The newly operational Padre Pio Hospital–Butozi providing affordable care, maternal and child health support, and community medical outreaches.
b) WASH Projects: Enhancing clean water access, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion in rural communities.
c) Education & Youth Empowerment: Active sponsorship programs, digital literacy training, and skills development for AGYW and ABYM.
d) Community Support: Strengthening vulnerable households, disability inclusion, and social protection initiatives.

Through these interventions, PAPIRUDEI is driving sustainable socio-economic growth and improving the quality of life for rural communities.

OUR VALUES

Our values define who we are. They are the fundamental beliefs of PAPIRUDEI and they guide our actions and behaviour. They also influence the way we work with each other – and the way we serve our clients and engage with our communities, donors and well-wishers.
